Hungarian language translation and interpreting service
Originating from the Uralic regions of Asia, the Hungarian language (also known as Magyar) is spoken as a native language by some 13-million speakers worldwide. There are numerous dialects, but ‘standard’ Hungarian, as used in education and government-administration, is based on the dialect as spoken in the country’s capital which is Budapest. Hungarian is one of the 24 official languages of the European Union.
The written form of Hungarian uses the Latin alphabet, but unlike English which has just 7, Hungarian has 14 vowels: a, á, e, é, i, í, o, ó, ö, ő, u, ú, ü, ű. The pronunciation of which, with each being slightly different, can change a word completely.
Hungarian is thought to be one of the most difficult world languages to learn.
