Georgian language translation and interpreting service
Georgian, a Kartvelian language, is the official language of Georgia. Georgian has a rich and ancient literary tradition dating back to the 5th century AD.
Georgian is also the liturgical (religious) language for all members of the Georgian Orthodox church and the literary language for speakers of Svan, Laz, and Mingrelian. Old Georgian script is believed to have been developed from the Greek alphabet following the country’s conversion to Christianity in 337 AD.
The modern Georgian writing system is made up of 33 symbols and does not distinguish between upper and lower case letters. Written Georgian, in manuscript form, is beautiful to look at with its very stylish cursive script.
